Woman Claims Titans Kicker Tried to Run Her Off the Road Before Fatal Crash

A Nashville woman says that former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas tried to run her off the road with his SUV only moments before his fatal crash.

Rob Bironas, a kicker for the Tennessee Titans from 2005 to 2013, died after he ran his 2009 GMC Yukon SUV into several trees near his Nashville home on September 20. The vehicle ultimately came to rest upside down in a culvert. Earlier this year, Bironas married Terry Bradshaw’s daughter Rachel, who reported him missing after he disappeared without warning after wishing her a good night on Saturday evening.

As part of the investigation into the incident, police report that a woman and her husband said that Bironas had exhibited “road rage” by revving his engine behind them as they drove. The couple quickly pulled off the road to allow Bironas to pass them and they said he gave them a “mean look” as he drove by.

Audio of the 911 call that the woman made at 11 p.m. that night described the incident:

“We let him go on past us because he was trying to run us off the road and we don’t know who he is … We just pulled out of his way, and we saw all this smoke and pulled over… There is something wrong with him … He gave us a mean look. We don’t even know him, and he tried to run us off the road.”

The woman and her husband weren’t the only ones to say that Bironas was acting erratically on the road.

A pair of students also claimed to have been accosted that night in road rage by the former player.

Connor Fraley, 20, says that Bironas sideswiped his car as he sped by them and later screamed at them and made threatening comments at an intersection minutes later.

“I am not trying to soil this guy’s reputation or his legacy. I know this community thinks very fondly of him. I am just being honest, and I’m trying to get this off my chest. He tried to kill us. He told us he was going to try and kill us,” Fraley said.

Police say that the investigation is still ongoing and the results of autopsy and toxicology reports will not be in for several weeks.
