AOL/HuffPo, CNN Fooled By 'One Percent Tip' Hoax

A viral photograph of a $133 restaurant bill with a mere $1.33 tip and a note saying “Get a real job” turned out to be a hoax. A wealthy banker had allegedly left the bill and the note, which was picked up by several news outlets including The Huffington Post and CNN, inciting class outrage across the web. As it turned out, there were several patrons attached to the bill, each leaving $1.33 gratuity which added up to a reasonable overall tip. The Huffington Post issued a retraction when it was revealed the note was photoshopped by a blogger.
