AFL-CIO & SEIU Organizer: Goal To 'Take Down' Employers And Free Enterprise
Influential labor leader Jane McAlevey was first with the AFL-CIO then became the national Deputy Director for Strategic Campaigns of the Health Care Division of the SEIU (2002 to 2004). From there she was hired by the local as their Executive Director in 2004. In addition to her organizing, McAlevey is also a pro union writer for The Nation, the New Labor Forum and AlterNet.
