White House: Although President Claimed No Need To Raise Taxes, 'Context' Has Changed

During today’s press briefing, the White House press pool brought up the fact that in July 2011 the President said that a fiscal deal could be reached without raising taxes. The White House responded that although the President previously claimed that raising taxes was not necessary, “context” has changed.
