Dem Senator Contradicts Colleague: 'Do We Have A Spending Problem? Of Course We Do'

Senator Whitehouse (D-RI) told the Senate today that “of course” the United States has a spending problem. But Whitehouse said that the spending was a small part of the problem and that when you get into a discussion of spending “with the other side,” they turn “their guns” on medicare and welfare. Whitehouse said that those were “important” programs that need to be defended.
