Arab-American Groups Call Coke Super Bowl Ad 'Racist'

Three Arab-American groups, including The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, object to a new Coca-Cola ad where three groups, cowboys, bikers and showgirls race to a Coke bottle. Viewers are then prompted to vote for the group they want to win the race. However they cannot vote for the Arab man in the spot because he is essentially part of the scene setting.

Imam Ali Siddiqui, president of the Muslim Institute for Interfaith Studies said to NBC News, “The Coke commercial for the Super Ball is racist, portraying Arabs as backward and foolish Camel Jockeys, and they have no chance to win in the world.”
