On Thursday, President Barack Obama announced that he signed an executive order to extend U.S. sanctions as a response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s move to annex the Crimea region of Ukraine. This comes after Monday’s announcement he was leveling sanctions against seven Russian officials.
