Isikoff: Lewinsky Vanity Fair Essay Triggered by Rand Paul, Clinton Library Release

On “CNN Tonight” on Wednesday, former Newsweek journalist Michael Isikoff, who is known for his role in investigating former President Bill Clinton’s extramarital affair with then-intern Monica Lewinsky that was ultimately spiked by his editors, discussed the recent revelations from Lewinsky in an essay she penned for Vanity Fair magazine.

According to Isikoff, Lewinsky’s decision to come forth was possibly triggered by two events: Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) comments about Bill Clinton as it pertained to Democrats being the party on the side of women in the war on women and Clinton’s past with Lewinsky, and a release of documents by the Clinton Library that included some disparaging remarks about Lewinsky.
