GOP Rep: 'Numbers-Driven' VA System Created Problems

Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN), a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee declared that the recently released audit of the VA healthcare system shows there is a “systemic problem” within the VA. Rep. Walorski said a lot of the problems at the VA are “wrapped around the incentive of making more money,” and agreed that the “numbers-driven” accountability system contributed to the abuses at the VA. She added that “we have to root out and drill down on this thing and root out these bad actors or we’ll have this happen all over again no matter who is in a leadership position.”
