Hillary Snaps at NPR's Gross After Gay Marriage Questions

On Thursday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Fresh Air,” host Terry Gross took an aggressive line of questioning with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about her positioning on the gay marriage. Gross pressed Clinton on having evolved on gay marriage for political expediency, but Clinton insisted that wasn’t the case. Clinton instead argued she had evolved without politics being a factor during the seemingly contentious exchange.

GROSS: A lot of people believed in it already back in the 90s. A lot of people already supported gay marriage.

CLINTON: To be fair Terry, not that many. Were there activists who were ahead of their time? Well that was true in every human rights and civil rights movement but the vast majority of Americans were just waking up to this issue.
