DHS Secretary: Obama Not Going to Border — 'He Can't Be Every Place'

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” moderator David Gregory questioned why the president is refusing to go down the the border to witness for himself the growing humanitarian crisis. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said President Barack Obama “can’t be every place he would like to be, or even should be.” He also added the president is getting regular updates form him and other cabinet members.

Gregory grilled Johnson on how they were planing to stop the children from coming. Johnson claimed the administration is “going to stem this tide” of thousands of unaccompanied children from Central America crossing illegally into the U.S. through Mexico.

“Our message to those who come here illegally: Our border is not open to illegal migration,” he added.
