Thursday, on the Fox News Channel’s coverage of breaking news that on the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur having crashed killing all 295 passengers near the Russian-Ukraine border after early reports it was hit by a ground-to-air missile, Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera said, “I believe Vladimir Putin has the blood of these airline passengers on his hands.”
“The Russian leader has been supplying increasingly sophisticated weaponry to the pro-Russian anti-Ukraine activist in Eastern Ukraine,” Rivera said. “There are reports sophisticated surface to air missiles have been spotted in that region. They are little command over those rebels in Eastern Ukraine. I believe as i sit here today what happened is russia supplied that weapon system so those rebels could shoot down Ukrainian helicopters and Ukrainian warplanes attack in them, and they saw this aircraft in the sky, these undisciplined and Ukrainian rebels shot down the innocent passenger jet, I believe.”
