Report: VT Ditches ObamaCare Website Vendor After Spending Millions

A report that aired on Burlington, VT ABC affiliate WVNY on Monday showed that the state of Vermont had paid a website vendor millions of dollar for a glitch-filled website, but only to announce they would be abandoning that vendor for a new one despite having paid out the large sum.

According to WVNY, Vermont Health Connect is dropping CGI after missing several deadlines for Optum, another tech firm. The original contract with CGI was for $83 million and the state has paid out $57 million, with $9.7 million yet to pay out in the transition to Optum.
