Ron Fournier: Romney 'Is Going to Get in' 2016 Presidential Race

On Tuesday’s “New Day” on CNN during the “Inside Politics” segment, National Journal’s Ron Fournier reacted to the rumbling that former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA), the 2012 Republican presidential nominee will run again for a third time for president in the 2016 cycle.

Moderator John King noted a recently published New York Times Magazine piece by Mark Leibovich suggesting Romney still has interest in another run. That and Romney’s public activities suggest to Fournier Romney will have another go at it.

“That’s a great piece,” Fournier said. “What’s the old joke, John, about the only cure for the presidential bug? Embalming fluid. He’s going to get in. He’s in now. It’s just a matter of whether it sounds right. He desperately wants to run.

King was skeptical that Romney would take another shot.

“I don’t see it happening, but he certainly does want to be in the conversation,” King added.
