The liberal Minnesota-based blog UpTake posted a preview clip from HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” episode recorded this week, in which Maher is visiting the district of Rep. John Kline (R-MN) in an attempt to appeal to the voters to “flip” the district.
Maher opened by taking a shot at the Republican-leaning district by comparing voting conservative to being a part of the Confederacy.
“We want to find out if he really represents this district because John Kline votes with Republicans 98 percent of the time, and that’s pretty much the highest we could find,” he said. “And I don’t know if Minnesota joined the Confederacy.”
