GOP Rep Slams Boehner, Urges Getting Back to the Bible and Constitution

On Friday’s broadcast of Laura Ingraham’s radio show, Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) criticized House Speaker John Boehner for his reluctance to take the debate over the U.S. military actions against ISIS in Syria and Iraq to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

According to Jones, Boehner has a constitutional duty to do so, regardless of what the U.S. Senate does and that shows Boehner either has no regard for the Constitution or no regard for men and women in uniform.

“I would tell you back in August talking about the ISIS situation, Jim McGovern, Barbara Lee and Walter Jones wrote to Speaker Boehner on August 27 asking him to allow us to have a debate while we were there in September. He never said yes, so we didn’t have a debate. I wrote him on September 26 asking that during the lame-duck session we are allowed to have a debate on this issue in Syria. And Laura, I quoted James Madison – the power to declare war, including the power of judging the causes of war is vested exclusively in the legislation.”

“I do not know if Mr. Boehner does not understand the Constitution or he is just indifferent to our young men and women giving their lives and their limbs for this country. I am very disappointed that in fact he does not see we have a responsibility. I don’t care what the Senate does not do, but we have a responsibility to the American people and our men and women in uniform to have this debate in Congress.”

Later in his appearance, Jones emphasized the importance of the Constitution, as well as the Bible, which according to Jones had also been abandoned regarding the push for immigration and globalism by corporate interests.

“I am a Ron Paul-type Republican and I believe sincerely that it is going to take a debate,” he said. “It’s going to take the kind of people that can lead this nation and look at this nation and understand that we have a Bible and we have a Constitution. And we have do not follow the Constitution, we will continue to go down this road of collapsing.”

“That’s what we need to do – is have a revolution in this country,” he continued. “I’m not talking about guns necessarily. I’m talking about a revolution of people getting out of their offices and getting into the streets and letting their voices be heard.”

“Greed has destroyed America,” he added. “The Bible talks about greed and when this country started, moving jobs out of the manufacturing industry to other countries so they could pay people 70 cents an hour instead of $18 an hour – this was the beginning of exactly what you just said. And if we don’t take back this country, then I don’t what our grandchildren have to look forward to. Right now, I’m very, very concerned about their future.”
