Maher Sees Liberals Rooting for the Seahawks, Conservatives for the Broncos in Super Bowl

On his Friday broadcast of “Real Time” on HBO, host Bill Maher drew an analogy between the 1971 Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier heavyweight title bout and this year’s Super Bowl, which according to Maher is split by political ideologies.

“I noticed John McCain said, ‘Everybody is such a Peyton Manning fan and that loudmouth from Seattle sort of epitomizes the Seattle team to me,’” Maher said. “It just said to me this reminds me of Ali-Frazier. Remember when that sporting event divided America politically? Like all the liberals loved Ali and the conservatives, they didn’t love Joe Frazier but they wanted him to win because he was old school. I don’t think the ‘Duck Dynasty’ people are going to be rooting for Seattle.”
