Kimmel: Obama 'Wants to Get Michelle Stoned So They Can Eat Chips in the White House Again'

On his Tuesday show, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel joked about President Barack Obama’s wide-ranging interview with the New Yorker, which included the president’s thoughts on professional football and marijuana use.

“President Obama said some interesting things in an interview with the New Yorker that was published on Sunday,” Kimmel said. “They asked about the risks associated with contact sports – Obama said he wouldn’t let his son play professional football. And then in the same interview he said marijuana is not as dangerous as alcohol. Apparently he has been smoking marijuana because he thinks he has a son.”

“While he doesn’t encourage marijuana use, he thinks pot is less dangerous than alcohol in terms of its impact on the individual consumer,” he continued. “This sounds to me like he just wants to get Michelle stoned so they can eat chips in the White House again. Obama also revealed he discourages his daughters from smoking pot by telling them it’s a waste of time. That’s the whole point, right?”

“Wouldn’t it be weird if 20 years from now football was illegal and marijuana was allowed?” Kimmel added. “’Mom, we’re going to the park to smoke some weed.’ ‘OK, but don’t let me catch you playing football.’”
