Doctors Brace for Heavy Medicare Cuts

With the irresolution on Capital Hill and increasing likelihood of going over the fiscal cliff, doctors should prepare not only for the implementation of Obamacare and associated taxes and paperwork but also for substantial Medicare cuts. 26 Dec 2012

Reid: Romney Bad Example of Mormonism

You may have already seen on any number of news sites that Reid said Romney "is not the face of Mormonism" and that he agreed that Romney "sullied the religion." This is a new line attacking Romney, on the same order as Reid's earlier baseless accusation that Romney hadn't paid taxes for ten years. It's all politics. And it's certainly not good Mormonism. 29 Sep 2012

WaPo Misses Point on Book of Mormon

WaPo turns its attention to the Book of Mormon. Justin Moyer provides a review for a new book by Paul C. Gutjahr, "The Book of Mormon: A Biography." This short review reveals an obvious distaste towards Mormonism. 5 Jun 2012

Media Misses Point on Mormonism: Homosexuality

The Washington Post is at it again. Now they're misleading the public on Mormonism by equating what Mormon women want with what progressive Mormon women want. Neither of these groups are authorized to speak for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, nor are the Church's positions clearly stated or referenced in the article. This time, however, the article is written by a member of the Church. 2 Jun 2012

Washington Post Falsely Attacks Mormonism ... Again

The Washington Post's suggestion that LDS internet support groups run against the LDS Church is flat-out wrong, yet they published an article by Michelle Boorstein insinuating as much. Besides some factual errors pertaining to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she makes it seem that doubt is bad or frowned upon in the LDS Church, painting another faulty picture of oppression with its members as victims. 30 May 2012

Obama Camp Silent on Media's Mormonism Smears

If Romney is expected to "vehemently" repudiate any possible attacks against Jeremiah Wright, then why isn't Obama expected to "vehemently" repudiate ongoing attacks against Mormonism? Why does Obama think he can get away with this double standard? Our president's insulting silence on media attacks against Mormonism shows a tacit approval, not to mention a lack of principled leadership. Romney demonstrates greater leadership by personally speaking out against attacking Jeremiah Wright. 27 May 2012

Media Pretends Mormonism Will Hurt Romney; Study Says Opposite

Politico has "Up in the Arena:Romney's Religion Now 'Fair Game?" following a New York Times article about a proposal made to a super PAC about a series of ads exposing Obama's relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Pundits and politicians alike say Romney shouldn't touch Wright (which he hasn't) because that would open a whole new can of worms. They think that a deeper look into Mormonism would kill his chances at election. 17 May 2012

Maher Misses Point on Mormonism, Charitable Giving

Comedian Bill Maher tried, and failed, to mock Mitt Romney for his charitable donations. Here's hoping Maher will read this to learn more about the good deeds done by members of the Mormon faith. 1 May 2012

Media Misses Point on Mormonism: Race and the Priesthood

In December of 2007, Romney appeared on "Meet the Press." He was interrogated on a host of issues, including but not limited to social issues such as religious liberty, his faith, racism, and abortion. Most questions raised about Romney now he answered then, as well as in other interviews. Several of these questions he's answered more fully this time around through the recent series of primary debates. There is no reason for the press to cry foul that Romney doesn't respond to their accusations and requests; revisiting these issues has little value beyond the political advantage in driving public opinion against the Republican nominee. 30 Apr 2012

Media Misses Point on Mormonism: Baptism of the Dead

Everywhere you look these days are attacks on random aspects of Mormonism. Various blogs and news agencies are all trying to marginalize Mitt Romney by mocking and attacking bits and pieces of his religion to make it seem strange (though they leave Harry Reid alone). The New York Times admits to this plan Tuesday in Playing the Mormon Card. 25 Apr 2012
