Christie Secretly Has Lap Band Surgery, Will Hit NBC Nightly News to Explain

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is widely considered a frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016, has now revealed that he secretly had lap band surgery to lose weight – and he’s already dropped 40 lbs. Obviously hopping on the Al Gore/Ted Kennedy/Mike Huckabee bandwagon, wherein high profile politicians lose weight each time they consider running for president, Christie had the surgery in February after turning 50 in September. 7 May 2013

Too Little, Too Late: Press Plays Catchup on Benghazi Scandal

Now, with all the responsible parties gone except for the president himself, it will make virtually no difference. That was a calculation those in the media recognized even at the time. VA Gov. Candidate McAuliffe Left Crying Wife and Baby in Car to Fundraise

Wouldn’t you want a governor who puts fundraising first – actually, puts fundraising so far out in front of all the rest of his priorities that he will leave a weeping wife and child in the car to go pick up a few checks? If you do, the candidate for you is former Democratic National Committee chair and current Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. 1 May 2013
