Not Glitchy, Just Bad

According to the Washington Post, the Obamacare healthcare.gov website is not suffering from mere glitches – it’s just a bad website. “Problems with the federal government’s new healthcare Web site have attracted legions of armchair analysts who speak of its problems with ‘virtualization’ and ‘load testing.’ Yet increasingly, they are saying the root cause is not simply a matter of flawed computer code but rather the government’s habit of buying outdated, costly and buggy technology.” Oct 10, 2013 7:22 AM PT

Alec Baldwin Pens 500-Word Letter to the Editor Against Local 'Vermin' Paparazzi

On September 29, new MSNBC host Alec Baldwin wrote a letter to the East Hampton Star complaining about the paparazzi. He specifically cited the fact that they were locals, and then called them “vermin.” There were also random references to “gypsy cabs” as well as Baldwin’s apparent bête noir, one Jason Gutterman. The letter ran over 500 words. Oct 9, 2013 2:11 PM PT

Koch Industries Send Letter to the Senate: Reid Lied About Us

On Tuesday, Koch Industries, the company run by the left’s favorite bugaboo, the Koch brothers, sent a letter to the Senate denying that they had anything to do with the government shutdown. Members of the mainstream press, including The New York Times, have attempted to blame the Kochs for the shutdown. So has Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Oct 9, 2013 7:41 AM PT

Ryan Drops All Obamacare Demands in WSJ Op-Ed

On Monday, former vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, suggesting that Republicans drop all Obamacare demands in their push for a deal on the debt ceiling and a continuing resolution to fund the government. Establishment Conservative Journalists Meet Off-the-Record with Obama at White House

In a clear attempt to woo largely establishment conservative commentators who have loudly opposed the GOP’s current government shutdown strategy, President Obama held an off-the-record meeting with the Washington Post’s Charles Krauthammer, the Wall Street Journal editorial page editor Paul Gigot, National Review’s Washington editor Robert Costa, syndicated columnist and former CNN co-host Kathleen Parker, and Byron York of the Washington Examiner. Shutdown Horror: White House Mess Menu Shortened

HHS did state that the site was better than it was before the weekend improvements, and said that it would be taken offline only during nonpeak hours. Oct 7, 2013 5:56 PM PT

Dowd Off Her Meds: 'Welcome to Ted Cruz's Thunderdome'

On Sunday, The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd wrote perhaps the most absurd column ever to appear in the pages of that illustrious newspaper. The piece, titled, “Welcome to Ted Cruz’s Thunderdome,” links together bizarre dystopian movie references, pathetically unfunny names for politicians, and likely a solid amount of alcohol consumption on the part of the author. Obamacare Website Closed for Repairs This Weekend

Like a flaming Chevy Volt brought back to the shop for repairs, the Obamacare federal health insurance exchange website has now been recalled. The application part of the site, healthcare.gov, will be taken down during off-hours over the weekend, and will be unavailable for public use – which does not truly differentiate it from its current status. He had very good resolve.” Oct 4, 2013 11:28 AM PT

GAFFE: Obama Condemns Labor Strikes with Shutdown Analogy

On Thursday, President Obama launched into yet another broadside against Republicans over the government shutdown while in campaign mode in Rockville, Maryland speaking to a construction company. Oddly, after veering off teleprompter, he likened Republicans shutting down the government to striking workers shutting down a business. Oct 3, 2013 10:26 AM PT
