Was CNN Influencing Debate On Obama's Behalf?

Commentator Dick Morris picked up on it in a series of Tweets. It was so obvious, the Republican audience booed it and those looking in from home most likely understood what was taking place as well. Asked CNN's John King: "Which candidate believes in birth control and why?" 22 Feb 2012

Rep. Paul: Audit the Fed, Not My Duplicate Reimbursements?

Given that Rep. Ron Paul has long been a champion of frugal, ethical government, while supporting calls to audit the Federal Reserve, his lack of cooperation with Roll Call in two reports on what appear to be duplicate reimbursements for airline travel he's received exposes the Congressman to charges of hypocrisy. 21 Feb 2012

NPR's Imbalanced Report On Payroll Tax Cut

If one clicks in to listen to National Public Radio's (NPR) 3 minute report on the recently passed payroll tax cut deal, NPR's Tamara Keith first plays a clip of a kumbaya-singing Barack Obama calling for action on the payroll tax cut - despite ideology. Our Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force will all experience real cuts in both manpower and capability. 17 Feb 2012

Media Matters' Tax-Exempt Status a Valid Concern, Not Just for the Right

I'm going to have to disagree with my friend Ed Morrissey at Hot Air, who questions whether concerns about Media Matters' tax-exempt status are simply a partisan grudge. "I think this is a mistake," he says. "Setting a precedent of opening tax investigations on the basis of partisan grudges is one that Republicans and their allied political organizations will regret, and probably sooner rather than later." However, Media Matters' actions are at issue here, not any real or imagined response to those in the form of a "grudge" of some kind. 17 Feb 2012

Notes from the Campaign Trail: February 16th

There's talk that it's Rick Santorum who is currently under the gun, not Mitt Romney. He can write a check to himself, if need be, while Santorum must win Michigan and Ohio to make the case that Romney has a mid-West problem which warrants additional support for Santorum as a preferred alternative. 16 Feb 2012
