How can any parent look at the near 100% record of child celebrity train wrecks and then put their child in front of the train? If there was any justice in this country, parents caught putting their child into the business of show would immediately have that child taken away by social services. 16 Feb 2012 Mediaite's Tommy Christopher Defends Occupy Rape Deniers Apparently, Tommy Christopher has a very specific mission at Mediaite. Legitimate stories reported by Team Breitbart that expose the left and pick up steam are immediately targeted by Christopher. There's an unmistakable pattern at work here, where on behalf of the left, Christopher's job is to run interference, change the subject, change the narrative, deflect, parse, and create all the dishonest smoke he can. The pattern looks something like this: Facts be damned, full speed ahead -- and then when proven wrong, Christopher just kind of stands there with his pants around his ankles. 15 Feb 2012 Daily Call Sheet: Hannibal Lecter: The Series, 'Phantom' Beats 'Star Wars,' and Mourning Whitney This will be a series that revolves around Hannibal Lecter and FBI Agent Will Graham. But the question is, how will Lecter wear on audiences as the co-star of an hour-long weekly drama? The appeal of the character has a lot to do with how little we see him and how his unseen presence hangs over everything else. If memory serves, Anthony Hopkins was only on screen for about 16 minutes of "Silence of the Lambs," but he won Best Actor instead of Supporting because whether or not he was on screen, he was still there. 15 Feb 2012 Hollywood Sells Its Soul to China's Censors You see, Hollywood isn't liberal -- not in the classic sense. This is not a community that believes in human liberty or freedom. Like Barack Obama and the mainstream media, Hollywood only uses liberalism as a vehicle for the kind of big government totalitarianism that always benefits and enriches and empowers anyone, including big business, willing to play along. 15 Feb 2012 Gamechanger?: How Would You Like to Cancel Your Obnoxiously Expensive Cable Service? DHD dismisses this, but I don't think they understand how tired many of us are of paying outrageous cable bills for television we don't watch: 15 Feb 2012 Inside Media Matters: What Did Ben Smith Know and When Did He Know It? The thing about Ben Smith is that we always seem to eventually discover something about him that helps to explain so much. Over the past few weeks, after he moved from Politico to Buzzfeed, I haven't written a word about Ben Smith. There's no reason not to give someone the opportunity to clean up his act. Now that some time has passed, though, it's become pretty clear that the same Ben Smith who blogged over at Politico is the same Ben Smith commanding a bunch of reporters over at Buzzfeed. 14 Feb 2012 Daily Call Sheet: Last Decade's Most Underrated Films, What 'Abe Lincoln: Vampire Slayer' Should Look Like, and Why 'Super Fly' Rules Some good choices, especially "The Assassination of Jesse James," which I think is the best film of the aughts. Another gem is "American Psycho," which, I swear, is the autobiography of a guy I worked with for over a decade. Then there's "The Virgin Suicides" -- still Sofia Coppola's best film, "Che," which I admired a lot, and "Brick," which I really need to see again. 14 Feb 2012 Politico's Dylan Byers Uses Media Matters' Tactics to Protect Media Matters For those of you unfamiliar with him, Politico's Dylan Byers is a left-wing operative disguising himself as a "media analyst." If you look at his incredibly biased work just since the start of the year, you'll find someone who has enjoyed an open relationship with Media Matters, then a secret one, and is now an important component in the Media Matters blacklisting crusade to silence conservatives. For instance, just in the last few weeks, Byers has obsessed over our own Dana Loesch (more coming on that later), gone after Red State's Erick Erickson, and took part in GLAAD's latest fascistic rampage. 13 Feb 2012 Daily Call Sheet: Whitney's Class, 'Going My Way's' Subtext, and Tales of Amazon Streaming Houston was a true superstar. She had the pipes, looks, presence and poise -- she had it all. And if you look at her evolution as an actress from "The Bodyguard" to "The Preacher's Wife," she could've had a long and productive film career had her personal life not imploded. 13 Feb 2012 Something Gays & Muslims Need Never Fear: CBS, Grammys Mock Catholic Church More proof that Muslims and gays represent the protected class in entertainment. Not that anyone in Hollywood has the iconoclast spirit required to satirize either group, but had they in the same way the Grammys "satirized" the Catholic Church last night, both CAIR and GLAAD would've already exploded in a fit of indignation. CBS, the Grammys and all those involved would've already apologized, and the same re-education camp Tracy Morgan, Brett Ratner and Roland Martin have been forced invited to attend, would now be inviting Nicki Minaj into the fold. 13 Feb 2012 Previous 179 180 181 182 183 184 185 186 187 188 189 Next
