Shutdown Ratings: CNN Sinks to Third; Fox Dominates

Since Jeff Zucker took the reins, this is the first time CNN has lost in the ratings to MSNBC during a big news event. While the two-left-wing networks have fight back and forth when the news isn't so dramatic, during the Boston Marathon bombing and the George Zimmerman trial, CNN jumped ahead of the Lean Forward network. Ezra Klein Knew ObamaCare Site Had Problems Weeks Before Launch

ObamaCare's number-one cheerleader, the Washington Post's Ezra Klein, admitted yesterday that, weeks before the disastrous launch of the ObamaCare website, he was hearing "some very ugly things about how the system was performing[.]" Klein says he didn't do any reporting on what would have been a very big scoop because he couldn’t "nail the story" down and "there was a wall of official denials from the Obama administration[.]" Oct 16, 2013 5:03 AM PT

Kos Diarist Gets ObamaCare Bill: 'What the Hell Kind of Reform Is This?'

Over at the hard-left Daily Kos, diarist Tirge Caps, who has a years-long history as a reliable left-wing Daily Kos diarist, lashed out at ObamaCare. After receiving a notice that said his monthly health insurance premiums will nearly double, Caps writes, "I am canceling insurance for us and I am not paying any fucking penalty. What the hell kind of reform is this?" Oct 15, 2013 2:18 PM PT

'Nichols' Review: Holy Grail for James Garner Fans Has Been Found

For 24 episodes, between September of 1971 and March of 1972, James Garner returned to the television Western a full ten-years after leaving "Maverick," the Western series that made him a star. "Nichols" was something entirely different, though, which is probably why it only lasted a single season. Two years later Garner would get his groove back in a major way with "The Rockford Files." And for over forty years, "Nichols" would remain unseen and become something of a Holy Grail among Garner fans like myself. Oct 15, 2013 1:11 PM PT

'Tea-Tards': OFA Shutdown Rally Draws Fewer than Two Dozen

As you can see in the photos above, a member of President Obama's political army, or someone welcomed among them, held a large sign attacking the Tea Party as "Tea-Tards." This of course will get none of the media play Sunday's much bigger rally got when some idiot showed up with a Confederate flag. Oct 15, 2013 12:08 PM PT

Nielsen Confirms Megyn Kelly Ratings Surge

Last week, Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC, asked the Nielsen Company to investigate a Tuesday surge in the ratings for Megyn Kelly's new primetime Fox News program. Griffin found the Tuesday surge "impossible" because it occurred the day after Kelly's new show premiered. Nielsen took another look and confirmed the surge: Oct 15, 2013 8:47 AM PT

NBC Poll: 25% of 'New American Center' Support Path to Citizenship

NBC News and Esquire Magazine teamed up for a poll that is now being hailed across all NBC platforms for finding the "New American Center." The poll finds that 51% of American are "bound by a surprising set of shared ideas." One finding NBC News is choosing not to highlight is that 75% of those in the New American Center oppose "immigration reforms that would provide a path to citizenship for those who came here illegally." Drown the Racist Terrorists!: Media Ramp Up Rhetoric Against Right

With the government shutdown now entering into its third week, the frustration and rage among the media elite is manifesting itself in ways above and beyond the usual-usual hostile coverage. Just two years after launching the New Tone-era, media elites are now openly wishing conservatives dead while comparing them to terrorists, criminals, and segregationists. Oct 15, 2013 6:07 AM PT

NBC's Chuck Todd Blasts Cruz, Palin: 'What Planet Are You Guys Living On?!'

On Monday's "Morning Joe," NBC's Chuck Todd describes as "odd" the decision Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin made to attend a Sunday rally that saw war veterans protest against the White House for closing the open-air WWII memorial. "Yesterday it was [Cruz] and Sarah Palin doing this odd protest," Todd said. "And you’re just sitting there going 'What planet are you guys-- are you living on here?'" Oct 14, 2013 9:05 AM PT

'Morning Joe': Derision for Tea Party, Respect for Bill Ayers

What a striking and revealing contrast between the "Morning Joe" crew's respectful treatment of an unrepentant left-wing enemy of America and the relentless derision and name-calling this same herd regularly hurls at conservative lawmakers and the everyday Americans who make up the Tea Party. Big Broadcasting Begs SCOTUS to Kill Aereo

The great cash cow that can make up as much as half the revenue various cable channels rake in is the racket known as bundled cable, where you and I pay for dozens of channels we never watch and even despise. Aereo, a service that streams local channels to your television for a fee much lower than the average cable bill, is an existential threat to that racket, and the major broadcasters are now begging the Supreme Court to strangle this threat in its crib: Oct 12, 2013 7:10 AM PT

ObamaCare Technical Problems Worsen

The Washington Post reports that the ObamaCare site problems are even worse than originally believed. It is not just the buyer-end of the ObamaCare website that is unworkable, so is the back end that is supposed to tell insurance providers who their new customers are. This might also explain why the White House is refusing to release to the media the number of ObamaCare enrollees: they just don't know. Oct 12, 2013 6:28 AM PT
