In response to In Honor Of School Choice Week:
Sonnie, one Governor missing from that list is Pat Quinn of Illinois, and there’s tons of support for school choice in his state because of Chicago’s failing public schools. A recent study by the IL Policy Inst. found that charter schools held the top nine spots for 2012 ACTscores for open-enrollment, non-selective public high schools inChicago.
2,500 kids were in attendance at the National School Choice Week whistle stop rally at Chicago Union Station on the 29th.
The Urban Prep Charter Academy For Young Men was one of many Chicago charter schools represented.
On Monday, in Kansas City, 450 enthusiastic school choice supporters greeted the NSCW Whistle Stop Tour at Union Station.
750 supporters helped NSCW kick off its tour from LA on the 26th.
