Rage and privilege

In response to Occupy Wall Street Was Overwhelmingly White & Privileged and Somehow CNN Didn’t Notice:

There’s always been an element of snotty upper-class self-loathing at the forefront of leftist movements.  I suspect one reason for that is the ability of the Left’s “community organizers” to engage such people.  They know where to find rebellious white college kids looking to establish their identity by declaring war against The Man and his evil System.  They know how to engage the reflexive sympathies of such people, flatter their vanities, and speak to them in the idiom of Hollywood liberalism.  The extras drawn into leftist street theater are people who don’t have jobs, but the star players tend to be people who don’t want jobs.
