Heartache: Ashley Judd Passes on McConnell Challenge
To the great disappointment of many (on the Republican side), actress Ashley Judd will not be challenging Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, next year. She announced the news on Twitter, today.
“Thank you for these months of remarkable support &
encouragement, for your voices, exhortations, & prayers. I have
decided,” Judd wrote. “After serious and thorough contemplation, I
realize that my responsibilities & energy at this time need to be
focused on my family. Regretfully, I am currently unable to consider a
campaign for the Senate.”
Well doggone it. She could have taken him on, too.
According to The Daily Caller, Judd told attendees at a private dinner with Democrats, last month, “I have been raped twice, so I think I can handle Mitch McConnell.”
