All of a Sudden, Media Interested in Benghazi

Prior to the 2012 election, the mainstream media–and Sunday show hosts in particular–did their best to cover up what was already obvious about the Benghazi attacks on Sep. 11–that the Obama administration had done nothing to stop them, and that it had lied brazenly to the American people about what happened.

As I reported on October 28, 2012:

The mainstream media’s silence on the Benghazi disaster reached deafening levels on Sunday, as hosts of four out of the five major news shows–with the exception of Fox News Sunday–failed to raise the issue. Only Bob Schieffer of CBS gave it serious consideration, and only after it was raised by Sen. John McCain.

Now, with witnesses coming forward and congressional hearings looming, the media are scrambling to cover what happened.

Too little, too late.

And while they might have protected President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from failures that would have ended the campaigns and careers of any Republican, in their silence they led the Obama administration to believe there would never be any consequences.

In their eagerness to serve Obama/Clinton’s short-term political interests, they did their favorites a grievous wrong.
