Teen Claims She Was Turned Away From Prom For Having Large Breasts

SILVERDALE, Wash. – A Central Kitsap High School student is claiming that an important night in her life was ruined when she was denied entry from her senior prom for apparently having too large of a chest.  Brittany Minder traveled all the way to Canada to procure her dress, which was specifically designed to accommodate a woman with a larger bust.  However, when she showed up at the prom in her new gown, she was told she could not enter.

“In my opinion, I feel that it is because I’m bigger chested and there is more cleavage that you can see, and there’s nothing I could really do about that,” she said.

The school’s dress code does allow for strapless dresses as long as cleavage, midriff, and lower back are covered. According to a school district spokesman,  if a student’s appearance does not meet the dress code, staff members will help them come up with a solution that allows them to attend the event.  In Minder’s case, the solution was to cover her cleavage with a shawl.

Minder’s mother also felt her daughter was unjustly singled out. “All women are not created equal, and you can not compare a golf ball to a grapefruit. It ain’t gonna happen,” Kim Minder said.

Gary Minder, Brittany’s father added: “A girl like Brittany should not have to go to a dance in a burlap sack because she’s large busted…”

Brittany eventually did go into the prom but stayed only about an hour. “I felt self-conscious and they took the magic out of the night,” she said. “It was tough being there after all that happened. I didn’t feel comfortable. I already had a blow to my self-esteem. I didn’t really want to be there anymore.”
