Fair Taxers seize the day
In the early hours of the IRS scandal, I told the Fair Tax legions to sound their trumpets and seize the moment. I've always leaned somewhat more toward the Flat Tax reform model myself, but the Fair Tax (a national sales tax instead of income taxes) would do an even better job of defanging the IRS. Under the Fair Tax, Internal Revenue would become entirely concerned with tallying up retail sales and making sure business owners remitted the proper tax amounts; it would have no need to collect any other information about American citizens at all.
