Day Care Worker Charged With Drugging Kids' Snacks

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio day care worker has been charged with six counts of child endangering after police obtained text messages in which she admits to drugging the children in her day care with Benadryl and Melatonin.

The suspect, 37-year-old Tammy Eppley, is denying accusations that she sprinkled the drugs on the children's snacks in attempt to get them to sleep during the day, and claims that the text messages were tongue-in-cheek jokes that don't refer to any specific actions.

However, police say that in one text message, Eppley jokes about how she was almost found out by one child who said that the sprinkles on some cupcakes tasted funny.
