Rick Perry Denounces the Left's Mob Tactics
Thursday Governor Rick Perry spoke to a National Right to Life gathering about the recent blocking of SB5 by activists. Perry said "the demonstrated that even if they lose at the ballot box, even if they come up short in attempts to stall on the Senate floor they'll resort to mob tactics to force their minority agenda on the people of Texas."
Perry went on to differentiate between the filibuster led by Wend Davis and the actions of protesters saying "I'm all about honest, open debate. Parliamentary tactics are certainly nothing new. But what we witnessed Tuesday was nothing more than the hijacking of the democratic process."
The filibuster actually ended well before the midnight deadline. It was the screaming of protesters in the gallery which prevented a vote from taking place. Here's just 10 seconds of what Perry was referring to as mob tactics:
Notice that Wendy Davis and the other Democrats seem to be encouraging this as a means to run out the clock. With Gov. Perry having called for a 2nd special session next week, the question is what they will do for an encore.
