Roll Call printed an article yesterday entitled “Crash Course in Crab Picking.” You can read it here.
A picture accompanies the article, showing some workers at the Maine Avenue Fish Market sorting Maryland blue crabs. Here is the picture, look closely at the red sign on the wall:
The sign reads “Food Stamp Cards Accepted.”
A few weeks ago, HuffPo published an article entitled “Louie Gohmert Argues Against Food Stamps, Claiming People Buy King Crab Legs With Benefits.” Just a hunch, but I think this was a bit of slam on the Congressman, as if to say “Look how silly these Republicans are, claiming you can buy luxury goods and crab with food stamps.”
Apparently, you can buy crab and king crab with food stamps.
