Obama: Republican Focus on 'Phony Scandals' Outrageous

In response to My Predictions Came True; Here Are a Few Things I Should Have Foreseen:

Obama expressed outrage at the Republicans in congress for pushing what he called “phony scandals…”

“I’ve reviewed the Republicans’ behavior for the last six months and the misconduct I discovered  was inexcusable,” Obama said in a speech at a college campus, today. “It’s inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I’m angry about it.”

The president noted that the Republican focus on “phony scandals” is outrageous.

“If you’ve got Republicans operating in anything less than a neutral and non-partisan way then that is outrageous, it is contrary to our traditions and people have to be accountable and it’s got to be fixed.”

“I am here to say this needs to stop,” Obama said in his speech. “This moment does not require short term thinking. It does not require having the same old stale debates.”

Jay Carney added, “I mean, nobody’s been more outraged by the Republicans’ conduct here than the president of the United States.”
