Police: Jogger Survives After Being Intentionally Rammed By Car...Twice
EPHRATA, Wash. - Grant County Sheriff's officials said that a 33-year-old woman was injured while jogging when she was intentionally run down by the same car twice. The incident took place Sunday evening around the 900 block of County Road 10 SE, just outside of Royal City.
Authorities say the female jogger was approached by a man behind the wheel of a white Oldsmobile. He asked her if she wanted a ride. She declined. He drove off.
Sheriff's spokesman Kyle Forman said the suspect turned the car around, drove past the woman, and then turned around again. He then proceeded to drive off the road and allegedly struck the woman from behind, knocking her to the ground. According to Forman, the driver turned around again and struck her for the second time, dragging her a short distance before he drove away.
The victim was taken to Moses Lake hospital for her injuries but is expected to survive.
Police subsequently found the Oldsmobile parked at a home roughly three miles away. Police say they have identified a possible suspect but are waiting for the victim to confirm.
