Jay Leno to Obama: 'Bromance with John McCain?'

Obama is making the rounds, again in the entertainment world and was a guest on Jay Leno’s show last night. The president prefers these entertainment venues to the riskier (but not much) appearances with the media where he might be asked a hard question.  Here is part of the exchange:

LENO: “Is it me, or do I see kind of bromance with you and John McCain? (Laughter.) I remember you two had that lovers’ quarrel for a while. And, oh, now, .. you’re best friends.”

OBAMA: “That’s how a classic romantic comedy goes, right? (Laughter.) Initially you’re not getting along, and then you keep on bumping into each other. (Laughter.) … [H]e deserves credit for being somebody who is willing to go against the grain of his own party sometimes. It’s probably not good for me to compliment him on television.”

Don’t worry Obama, you can compliment McCain all you want, we all have his number.
