NY Gov. Cuomo's Possible Cronyism Under Investigation

Does it rise to the level of corruption? A special commission created by Gov. Cuomo to investigate corruption in state government is looking into the $100,000 donation by Extell President Gary Barnett.

Reported by the Daily News, Extell Corporation received up to $35,000,000 in tax breaks over 10 years.

Two corporations tied to Extell Development each contributed $50,000 to Cuomo’s campaign, which recorded the checks on Jan. 28 — the same day the Assembly passed a housing bill that contained tax breaks for five developers, including Extell, records show.

It is not just at the federal level. State cronyism is in your neighborhood.
