A New Normal I could get used to

Let’s take stock: hundreds of thousands of non-essential government workers aren’t working.

The House is trying to fund the government with a series of small, focused bills instead of the usual gigantic, incomprehensible, pork-stuffed omnibus kaiju behemoth.

Now if we just set those funding bills up to sunset every Congress, requiring the perpetual justification and re-authorization of government spending, and make all those non-essential government employees into essential private-sector employees, we’d have a “New Normal” I could live with.

Crisis?  Bah.  I call this the first step to real reform.
