Biden Excited for 'Remarkable Changes' in Mental Health Treatment

Speaking at a forum in Boston, Vice President Joe Biden explained the country is on the brink of ‘remarkable changes’ in the treatment of mental illness. Biden joined HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s signing of the Community Mental Health Act.

The Veep explained that as a result of Obama’s health care law, more people will have access to mental health treatment. The new healthcare law prevents insurance companies from refusing to cover pre-existing conditions, like mental health issues.

Biden has stayed out of the spotlight during the government shutdown and during the healthcare.gov fiascoes.
