High School Students Asked to Sign ‘No Twerking’ Contract

LACEY, Wash. (KCPQ) – A Washington high school is requiring students and their parents sign a contract that states students will not twerk, lap dance, or otherwise “look like you’re having sex” on the dance floor during school-sanctioned events.

Officials from River Ridge High School sent the “RRHS Dance Contract” to students’ homes earlier this month.

The contract spells out various types of “inappropriate dancing,” as well as potential consequences should students violate the contract. Potential punishments range from a warning to removal from a dance and a ban on future dances.

The contract also states that students will not be refunded any costs associated with a dance should they be dismissed.
