Two-Thirds of Religious Hate Crimes Come from Anti-Jewish Bias

The FBI has released their statistics for hate crimes in 2012 and the numbers show that almost 2/3 of religious hate crimes are committed by offenders with an anti-Jewish bias.

Of the 1340 religious hate crimes in 2012, 62% were victims of an offender’s anti-Jewish bias.  That figure is five times the number as the number two group, Muslims (12%).   The number three slot goes to offenders with groups of “varying religions” bias and spot number four goes to offenders with anti-Catholic bias (6.4.)

The hate crime statistics come from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program and “does not estimate offenses for the jurisdictions of agencies that do not submit reports.”
