Dem Polling Firm Finds Christie Leads Hillary in PA

A poll released Wednesday by the Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling finds Republican Governor Chris Christie is more popular than Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania.

PPP found Christie leading Clinton 48-44 in the state. Clinton led other possible 2016 contenders including Jeb Bush (48-44), Rand Paul (51-43) and Ted Cruz (53-41). President Obama won the state over Mitt Romney in 2012 by a 6 point margin, 52-46.

The poll found Christie was by far the most popular choice in a Republican primary with 26 percent. Ted Cruz came in 2nd with 16 percent. Not surprisingly, the numbers were different among those who identified themselves as “very conservative.” Here Christie got 11 percent while Cruz got 23 percent.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton crushed all rivals. Sixty-one percent selected her as their primary choice. VP Biden came in 2nd place with 13 percent. Elizabeth Warren was right behind Biden with 11 percent.
