ObamaCare Is Running On Fumes
The ignominious means by which Obama's signature legislation was passed and implemented can no longer be denied. First, sweetheart deals and parliamentary tricks were employed to pass a government takeover of 1/6 of the economy, and it passed on a party line vote. That alone poisoned the well for Republicans, who parlayed their simmering anger into the midterm shellacking of 2010.
But the rest of America didn't feel the sting of ObamaCare until Obama's oft repeated false promises, "you can keep your plan", "you can keep your doctor", "premiums will go down", etc. were proven to be lies. When a politician's lie is felt in the pocketbook - that's a poisoned well for all but the most hyper-partisan Democrats.
Obama and his acolytes are now begging the very Americans they lied to - to get on their glitchy, insecure website to search for new health insurance plans, often with much higher premiums than they were previously paying.
Sure, in some cases people are offered premiums with government subsidies, and in other cases, people are being automatically dumped into Medicaid whether they want it or not. It doesn't seem to have occurred to Team Obama that there are many Americans out there who would prefer not to have government handouts. They were happy with their old insurance and they want it back.
Voters overwhelmingly want to change or repeal the new national health care law. One-out-of-two want to scrap it completely and start over again.
Given the problems associated with the law, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Congress and the president should repeal it and start again from the beginning. That’s up from 43% support in late October. Another 31% think Congress and the president should go through the law piece by piece to improve it.
ObamaCare is a toxic and unnatural disaster that should never have happened. It wouldn't have happened if Democrats hadn't engaged in a campaign of shameful lies and tactics to pass it. And now they expect the 80% of Americans who want it changed or repealed to do our patriotic best to make the president's health care law a success? Yeah, good luck with that.
There once was a deep well of American compassion and goodwill toward a healthcare law that promised to insure all Americans. It was a nice thought. What Obama doesn't yet understand is that he has poisoned that deep well of compassion with his serial lies and deceit and non stop demagoguery.
I honestly don't know if and how ObamaCare survives this.
