Dame Helen Mirren was presented with the Hasty Pudding “Woman of the Year” award at Harvard University. To show she was a good sport, Mirren “showed off her twerking skills” to the audience.
“I’ve tried in my bedroom in private, in front of the mirror, very unsuccessfully, so [it’s] absolutely humiliating to have to do it in public in front of a whole load of people,” the Oscar winner said after her big bum-shaking moment. “But I obviously couldn’t get out of it, it was an inevitable end to the whole proceedings.”
The event included a parade and much fanfare. The Hasty Pudding Theatricals is the university’s theater troop. Here is a video of Dame Mirren twerking:
