Cultists Beat Woman to Death in McDonalds in Eastern China

Several individuals from one family allegedly linked to a cult called  ‘All-powerful spirit’ or ‘Almighty God’, translated from ‘Quannengshen’ in Chinese’ have been arrested in the brutal beating death of a mother in a McDonald’s restaurant in eastern China.

Initial reports indicated the woman refused to give the man her number.

The video from Zhaoyuan, eastern China, which was too graphic for us to include, showed a man striking the victim in the head with an iron bar while members of the public watched on, despite the woman screaming in pain.

There were conflicting reports as to why the woman, named locally as Miss Wu, was attacked on Wednesday evening.

An eyewitness said one of the men, known as Mr Zhang, was angry the woman spurned his advances while other reports said the group wanted to recruit her to their cult but she wasn’t interested.

Witnesses told thenanfang.com that Mr Zhang was also having dinner with his friends at Zhaoyuan, in China’s Shandong province, when an argument broke out with Miss Wu followed by a physical dispute.
The website reported Mr Zhang’s friends joined in and also beat Miss Wu, kicking her in the head and she was lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood.

They then proceeded to use an iron-handled mop to strike her in the head and continued to do so until the handle broke.

“Another news site, ecns.cn, reported that Mr Zhang was encouraged by a woman shouting ‘beat her to death’. The accused six were arrested on Saturday and police believe they are part of a religious cult.”
