Emily's List-Backed Candidates Silent On Abortion Issue

Democrat Congressional candidate Gwen Graham is not saying much these days about her endorsement by the pro-abortion organization Emily’s List, nor is she saying anything much of anything about the controversial and divisive abortion issue.

 Graham calls herself a “moderate” and says that she looks to “emulate” her father, former U.S. Senator Bob Graham (D).

 Here is what  we wrote before about Graham’s proclamation that she would “emulate” what her father did while in the U.S. Senate.

 If this is the case, it would mean she favors earned amnesty for undocumented workers, and would support and vote against any anti-abortion bills, including partial birth abortion legislation.

 Yes, partial birth abortion.

 In 1999, then U.S. Senator Bob Graham was one of 34 Senators who voted against Senate bill 1692, which banned “the abortion procedure in which the physician partially delivers the fetus before completing the abortion.”

 How can we be so sure that Gwen Graham is in favor partial birth abortion? Well, Emily’s List is notorious for pulling support of their endorsed candidates, if the said candidate changes their mind on this issue, or any other issues that undermines their extreme pro-choice agenda.

 Case in point, Emily’s List pulled their support for former Senator Blanche Lincoln, after she voted in favor of Senate bill 1692, the very same partial birth abortion bill Gwen Graham’s father, Senator Bob Graham opposed and voted against. (Source-Emily’s List, March 4, 2010)

 Again, if Graham beats incumbent Congressman Steve Southerland (D), should we expect Graham show her true colors on abortion? Probably.

 

Graham is not the only pro-choice woman running for election or reelection, who is refraining from campaigning on the abortion issue.

 

There are several  other Emily’s List supported candidates veering away from the issue, including NC Senator Kay hagan, as well as Democrats Michelle Nunn of Georgia, Alison Lundergan Grimes of Kentucky and Natalie Tennant of West Virginia.
