Hillary Spin on ‘Jobs’ Remark Reminiscent of Husband’s Backpedal of Lewinsky Affair

When it comes to backpedaling, the Clintons are well known for some of the most creative spin. Former President Bill Clinton told his fellow Americans he “did not have sexual relations with that woman” in one instance and in a later instance he admitted he did “have a relationship” with that woman–Miss Lewinsky. Hillary Clinton found herself reversing her own remarks , CNN reported, that she made on businesses creating jobs when she said on Monday:

“Let me be absolutely clear about what I’ve been saying for a couple of decades: Our economy grows when businesses and entrepreneurs create good-paying jobs here in an America where workers and families are empowered to build from the bottom up and the middle out — not when we hand out tax breaks for corporations that outsource jobs or stash their profits overseas.”

Mrs. Clinton previously said at an event for Massachusetts Democratic gubernatorial nominee Martha Coakley three days ago:

“Don’t let anybody tell you it’s corporations and businesses create jobs,” Clinton said.

“You know that old theory, ‘trickle-down economics,'” she continued. “That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.”

“You know, one of the things my husband says when people say ‘Well, what did you bring to Washington,’ he said, ‘Well, I brought arithmetic,'” Clinton said, which elicited loud laughs from the crowd.
