Late Polls Have Iowa, North Carolina Senate Races All Tied Up

Newly released CNN/ORC International polls have the North Carolina and Iowa Senate races dead even going into the final weekend before election day.

The slight differences are within the polls’ margin of error.

Iowa Republican Joni Ernst leads Democrat Bruce Braley by 2 points among likely voters, 49 percent to 47 percent. In North Carolina, Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan leads Republican Thom Tillis by 2 points among likely voters, 48 percent to 46 percent.

As Breitbart News previously noted, both parties are preparing for recount scenarios.

The campaigns for both Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., and Republican state Speaker Thom Tillis confirmed to CQ Roll Call they are making preparations in case of a recount in one of the country’s most competitive races. Recent polls show a tied race, and this week the Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call moved the race to Tossup this week from Tilts Democratic.

With numbers this close, the parties ground games will likely have much to do with determining the final outcome.
