In response to Friday Night Question: Lisa, I'm old enough to remember when MTV actually played music. These days, I can't enjoy any of their programming. Of the three networks you mentioned, MTV has betrayed it's brand the most. I mean, Tila Tequila? Yo Mamma? Date My Mom?

As I sit here on a Friday night watching one of the half a dozen shows about wedding dresses on The Learning Channel (TLC) I pose this question: Which channel has strayed the furthest from its original programming: TLC, Bravo or MTV?

Wikipedia tells me TLC was originally founded by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and NASA.  Now it shows Honey Boo Boo.  I'm not that familiar with TLC's programming aside from the wedding shows, Sisterwives, and Gypsies, but I think they still run A Baby Story, which I suppose could teach you something about the birthing process.

A new study out of Northern Kentucky University reports that "alcohol, consumed with a diet mixer, results in higher (BrAC) Breath Alcohol Concentrations as compared to the same amount of alcohol consumed with a sugar-sweetened mixer."

A timely discovery in this Obama economy: you can get drunk for less money if you mix your drinks with a non-sugar mixer. 

The danger here is that, by choosing a diet mixer, you don't feel any more drunk than you would have with a normal drink, but - believe it or not - you actually are.

In response to Ex-LAPD Cop's Rampage Brings Out Dark Side of Social Media:

Liberty Chick, do you expect anything less? I don't. In this clown's manifesto, he praises liberal politicos like Hillary Clinton, and pulls out the single biggest political tool that the liberals have to counter any and all debates, 'The Race Card.' But as a few blogs have already pointed out, the 'MSM' is not focused on the this man's political views. Why? Because all fingers would point to his leftist indoctrination, giving the progressive movement somewhat of a black eye.

Social media can be an extremely powerful platform for positive causes.  But there are days when I grow increasingly cynical about the impacts of Facebook and Twitter, and I have admittedly been known to refer to them as a "sewage pit" on such days.

After reading the following post in reference to the murders of three people at the hands of ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, and after perusing Twitter throughout the day, this has been one of those days.
