RE: The Progressive Left's Marvel Team-Up Act

Mar 4, 2013 9:42 PM PT

In response to The Progressive Left's Marvel Team-Up Act:

Over the weekend, Bill Keller had the temerity to assign some blame for the sequester to President Obama. Within a day, the left's commentariat had settled the issue in Obama's favor, each linking to the other and repeating the claim that Keller was all wrong. Over at the Huffington Post, Jason Linkins summarized this group effort as a "Marvel team-up":

It takes a Marvel team-up of three different reporters, from three different news organizations, to perform this elementary act of real-keeping. Meanwhile, Bill Keller can, in one column, undo the work of Harwood, his New York Times colleague.

Linkins actually mentions four reporters at three different news organizations, though three of the four--Klein, Sargent and Chait--are progressives who can reliably be counted on to side with the President. As far as a takedowns go, "Three Like-Minded Progressives Defend Obama" isn't exactly red letter stuff, even if you throw in a tweet from a NY times reporter.

Sequestration and the Audacious Dishonesty of BuzzFeed

Mar 1, 2013 8:41 AM PT

As though manufactured anonymous sources wasn't enough, today BuzzFeed's own Andrew Kaczynski is now tweeting out mockery of sequestration fear-mongering.

Yes, that's correct, ladies and gentlemen, a guy who works for a site that was the tip of the online spear when it came to spreading the White House's lies about sequestration-doom is now tweeting mockery of sequestration doom.

How the anti-Israel left uses 'Zionist media conspiracy' theories

Feb 27, 2013 11:37 AM PT

Philip Weiss, an anti-Israel blogger so wretchedly devoted to his obsession that Palestinian terrorists were re-tweeting him during Operation Pillar of Defense last year, has revealed his version of the story of how an anti-Israel op-ed made its way into the New York Times last year.

The op-ed, by Sarah Schulman, accused Israel of "pinkwashing"--using its admirable record on gay rights to cover up its alleged abuses of the Palestinians.

HuffPo: BuzzFeed 'Forced' To Correct False Claim of Multiple Sources in Moore Story

Feb 27, 2013 5:02 AM PT

Because the he said/she said is so much fun between the left-wing BuzzFeed and the left-wing Michael Moore, an important fact has been overlooked: Initially, BuzzFeed apparently invented anonymous sources in its rush to protect Obama's government from the filmmaker.

In her original story, BuzzFeed reporter Tessa Stuart based her reporting on "sources" at LAX. She did this twice, once in the introduction highlighted at the very  top of the piece and in the actual article's first sentence.

Purim, Blackface [not really] and liberal hypocrisy

Feb 26, 2013 10:56 PM PT

When liberal hypocrisy and liberal stupidity collide the result is tragic yet funny to watch.

The NY Times reported "Assemblyman Defends Wearing Blackface to a Party

The assemblyman, Dov Hikind, a Democrat and a longtime power broker in the Orthodox Jewish community, wore an Afro wig, brown makeup, an orange jersey and sunglasses as part of a costume that he said represented a “black basketball player.”
